We've re-designed our website!

We've relaunched, following efforts to construct an up to date, modern website that truly represents Donaldson and McConnell as the modern, industry innovators that we are.

Customer friendly, with new graphics and a strong focus on updated imagery of our projects, we hope that our new and improved website shows Donaldson and McConnell as the industry leader we've grown to be.

We've made our service list more comprehensive. We've added better images to showcase our work. We've got a lot more to say for ourselves. And we've updated our product list to include some exciting new additions - Versa-Lam and BCI Joists.

We've already established an excellent reputation that's key to our success. And now we've listed our partners within the industry and given links to their web pages. Showing our quality workmanship and the industry giants who rely on us to provide the best in timer and glulam manufacture and supply, shows that we're as good as we say we are.

By upping our web presence and showcasing our work , we're hoping to reach a wider audience of prospective and future clients. And we're looking forward to engaging in the standard and bespoke projects that are set to come our way.

Timber engineering business bucks the trend by opening a new operation in Kent

Donaldson & McConnell timber engineering has opened a new Southern operation based in Hersden Nr Canterbury. This will extend Donaldson & McConnell's network of branches to four, with other operations in Bo'ness Scotland, Northern Ireland and the West Midlands. A fifth branch in Manchester will also come on stream later this year.

The Southern operation which is gearing up to fabricate and supply all forms of timber engineering from trussed rafter roof structures & floor systems through to complex purpose designed glue laminated timber structures. The Southern operation is being managed by Norman Gore, former Technical Director of BSW Timber Systems that closed recently.

Stuart McConnell Group CEO, said "This is a great opportunity for the company to expand and take advantage of the wealth of skills available at present and be ready for the growth in the building industry as we come out of recession. As the business grows we will be able to offer employment opportunities in an area that has seen quite a number of timber industry jobs lost in recent months. Our new set up in Kent followed shortly by Manchester will make us the only truly national timber engineering company in the UK that is able to offer a full range of products to service anything from small developments right through to the largest PFI projects". Stuart also added " being a family run business we haven't lost sight that our clients are our greatest asset and the importance of quality of both service and product, we are looking forward to the challenges ahead, but relish the opportunity to be able to provide a quality service to the building industry in the South".
